Ski Mt Bear AK

Come along for a ski mountaineering expedition of a lifetime to Mt Bear in Alaska’s Wrangell St Elias National Park

On May 1st 2013, International Mountain Guides will fly in to the Wrangells with famed bush pilot Paul Claus of Ultima Thule Outfitters to the south side of Mt Bear.  This mountain, standing at 14,831 feet is one of the tallest peaks in North America.

Our party of 8 or so will land on the east fork of the Klutlan glacier, make camp, and begin the 10 day trip to ski from the top. In the picture below, you can envision our ski descent on the left hand sky line.

Team members should be excellent ski area skiers with some backcountry experience.  They should have climbed at least one glaciated peak and fit and ready for adventure. If you are new to backcountry skiing or mountaineering, let me know and we can get you caught up in a couple days this winter.

This expedition is scheduled to take 12 days from Anchorage to Anchorage.  Please contact  International Mountain Guides for details and to join in.
